![]() ![]() However, I am not sure what is the tipping point to go individual calibrated? Or when to go even more expensive? Someone like Paul Spade Audio who do calibration professionally will invest in an individually calibrated one but not sure if it extends to the professional expensive mics? However, some people do use a laser measurement tool, marking positions to the nearest mm etc. Not material because changes in our room, where & how we sit, how many people in room, whether a door is open, where & how the microphone is postioned etc. The differences between using a generic batch file and actual calibration are not material in the scheme of things for amateurs like me (using Dayton Audio UMM6, with generic batch calibration file). Or this:įor most of us dabling with REW, using Dirac Live, using miniDSP etc. Shipping makes it expensive if buying one, but if shared between 3 persons, ok. Some say this generic batch calibration file is worthless and at a minimum, get one which is individually calibrated e.g. You can buy a UMIK-1 from miniDSP which come with a generic batch calibration file. ![]()
